International Video Art Contest     2016   Internationaler Kunstvideo Wettbewerb



The deadline for applications      1st July 2016


  1. 1.Entrants should send 1 copy of their film on DVD, PAL format. Only one entry per person.

  2. 2.Entries should not exceed 10 minutes in duration excluding titles. Preview copy should be clearly labelled with

3. If the film is not in English or German, then it must have English subtitles.

4. Insurance of entries is the responsibility of the sender. While all accepted films are treated professionally and with        care, proArt will not take responsibility for any loss or damage to DVD. The copiy will be retained for archiving by proArt.

5. All submissions are screened and evaluated by  Preview and Selection Committees, appointed by the contest steering committee. Their reports are final and confidential.

6. All entrants will be notified by early October 2016 whether their films have been selected for screening at BLUEBANANA CONTEST 2016.

7. Participation in BLUEBANANA CONTEST implies the authorisation to use the entered film for Internet and TV promotion.

8. Exclusively the participant shall pay all fees in relation to the transportation of submissions, from their place of origin to the address of proArt. The organizer will not be responsible for the cost of receiving any additional materials i.e. DVDs, posters, photos, etc.

9. Once a film has been submitted, it cannot be withdrawn from the contest unless the filmmaker has already submitted another film. In this event, proArt will not be liable to return the materials entered.

10. If music or additional film material used in your film is not original, then permission from source must be obtained. The responsibility for this rests entirely with the filmmaker. Failure to obtain clearance could result in your film being withdrawn from the contest. In this event, proArt will not be return the materials entered.

11. proArt reserve the right to refuse to screen any submission deemed by the contest to be overly offensive, violent or racist.

12. Only films completed on or after 2010 are eligible for entry into the contests.

5. Completed entry form signed by the entrant.

Please note that only films completed on or after 20010 are eligible for entry into our contest.

Please make your submissions as soon as possible to allow us to view your entries and make our selections for screenings, but take note:

DEADLINE:  1st July 2016

Please pack your material carefully in a padded envelope marked “SUBMISSION”,

making sure that all the required material is included.

Please make sure you have enclosed and signed the appropriate submission form.

We cannot screen your film if you haven’t signed.

Please ensure that you apply the correct postage.

The Video Art Competition is initiated by the society proArt.

The best 20 videos will be shown in November  2016 at public space in Landau, Bavaria, Germany.

We invite professional video artists to participate in this event.
